Ilse Oudheusden (1997) is a graphic design student at the Willem de Kooning Academy and has a fascination for polarities and their boundaries.
The heart of her creative research process is connecting extremes. By exploring the space in between a more layered reality arises.
She works on bringing opposites in materials and techniques together and turns that into sculptures or hand-made objects trying to spark your sense of wonder.
Her work inspires to see beyond paradoxes; that in everything there are two poles and that “opposites” are really only the two extremes of the same thing, with many varying degrees between them.
Ilse: “Working with contrasts leads to a broadening of perspective and an increase in dynamics, which leads to more room for imagination''.
